Spanish Month in Poland

In January our teachers and pupils learnt a lot about Spain. We watched the videos from the Comenius web page, listened to Spanish music, played Spanish games and listened to Carmen by G. Bizet. Ms Gabriela Urbańska and Ms Ewa Marek  organised a special art lesson during which the children made  crafts presenting Spanish traditions (flamenco, corrdida, sports). All of them were presented in the main hall in our school. The children also watched Spanish cartoons about Don Quijote de la Mancha. On 8th January 2012 Class III b organized an academy for grandfathers and grandmothers to present a small show which included a presentation of a Spanish song as well as a Spanish game. The parents, grandparents and the local community were informed about the project and the possibility of visiting the Comenius site and voting. During our ICT classes Gabriela prepared a lesson about Spanish customs, geography and culture. The students were presented with some quizzes and ppt presentations. During Spanish month we discovered that our pupils and teachers learn the Spanish language and were able to understand the song and translate for the rest of the class. Ms Dorota Kula and her class V b prepared a radio show about Spain which was presented on 9th 2012 in our school radio. Ms Beata Boroń-Sitko and class III c organised a Spanish day during which they sang the Spanish national anthem, talked about Spanish cuisine and sports and famous Spanish players.  It was a month of great fun, gaining new experience and learning.  Many pupils got interested in Spanish culture and started searching the Internet with the aim of finding more information or perhaps they even decided to visit this country.

We warmly thank our Spanish partners for their materials, video and a song.
