Fun and Games – The United Kingdom

In April we were learning about our British friends. We watched the videos prepared by the partner school from Launceston and read the materials from the Comenius page. Our teachers prepared English lessons about the British geography, history, culture. All lessons were supported by ICT. 2012 is celebrated as the Diamond Jubilee of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II that is why we organised some drawing activities and lessons about the British monarchy.

There was a radio programme about Britain played through the school’s radio. The students learnt by heart some of Charles Causley’s poems: Mary, Mary Magdalene, As I went down Zig Zag, Mr Pennycomequick. All the poems were presented at the Comenius Festival (10th May 2012).

The children learnt the song Incy Wincy Spider and the game. During the Festival we prepared the English stall with some materials, books, leaflets and souvenirs that we brought from Cornwall.

The English month was unforgettable.
