Dodgeball is a well-known form of team sport with modified rules that is often played in physical education classes. In this game players try to hit other
players of the opposing team with a ball while avoiding being hit themselves.
There are many variations of the game, but generally the main objective of each
team is to eliminate all members of the opposing team by hitting them with a ball,
catching a ball thrown by a member of the opposing team, or forcing them to
move outside the court boundaries when a ball is thrown at them.
1.
A
typical dodgeball game is usually played on a basketball court, netball court, gymnasium, parking lot, multiple tennis courts, or soccer pitch. The court must have a
center line.
2. To play a game you need a ball – for
example a volleyball.
In the game there are two
teams with the same number of players (from 3 to 20 players in a team). There
is no limit on the amount of players allowed in a team/game; the person/people
organizing the game choose the amount.
3.Before the game each
team chooses a person called ‘mother” who stands behind the line of the
opposing team's part of court.
4.In the game players try
to hit the opponents with the ball.
5.The players (except
mother) can't cross the line of their part of the court.
6.Mother tries to catch
the ball every time it leaves the court of the opponents and she also can hit
them throwing the ball from the line of the court.
7.The player is 'hit' if
the ball touches him and falls on the ground. The 'hit' player leaves the
court.
8.When all the players of
a team are eliminated the mother comes and she/he has 3 'lives'. All the
players from the opposing team can hit her.
9.If all the players and
the mother are hit ( mother-3 times) the team loses the game.
